| When I completed the “Drive of Your Life” game, I discovered that my personal style profile was: practical, structured, and outgoing. The three careers that match my style are: professional athlete, engineering manager, and sketch artist. From this information I have decided to explore becoming a professional athlete. I selected this job because I enjoy being active and playing sports. One of my daily activities as a pro athlete would be to go to practices and training sessions. I also have to play in games, according to rules and regulations. In addition, I need to exercise and practice to stay in shape and be prepared for games. To work as a pro athlete, I need less than a high school diploma and anything beyond short demonstration, up to and including 1 month of on the job training. I must be good at giving my full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, ask questions as appropriate, not interrupting at inappropriate times, and adjust actions in relation to others' actions in order to become a well trained pro athlete. In the United States, the average salary for a pro athlete is $79,460.00 per year. In the state of Virginia, the average annual salary is $35,732.38. In the United States by the year 2016, employment for a pro athlete is expected to increase by 19.2%. In the state of Virginia by the year 2016, it is expected to increase by 15.0%. I am looking forward to becoming a pro athlete in the future. |
